True Farmer Story

A talented farmer in the Jordan Valley hears his Rav speak about Shemitah and makes an offer: he will keep it, but only if the Rav guarantees that Hashem will take care of him. The Rav is frightened by the responsibility and brings the question to Rav Elyashiv. What he is allowed to promise, and what the farmer decides to do with it, starts a year that every farmer around him is watching and mocking. The story comes from Emunah Sheleimah. The year closes with a car with a very pointed name, and a lesson in taking a step against the current.
