Understanding the Duality of Matza in Pesach
The Haggadah says matzah is the poor man's bread our ancestors ate in Mitzrayim. The Torah says we eat it because we left in haste. One is a symbol of slavery and the other a symbol of freedom, yet it is the same piece of matzah. Why does the Torah name the whole holiday Chag HaMatzos after it? The Kli Yakar on Pharaoh's dreams, together with a mashal about forms stuck in an office and a word from the king, brings the two meanings together. It also says something about any situation that looks stuck right now.
