Shiur: Bishul
Sweep away the coals or cover them with ash, and the Mishnah permits leaving a pot on the stove, yet the stove is still hot. So what does sweeping or covering the fire actually accomplish for the laws of cooking on Shabbos? Rashi seems to care about what you do to the fire, more than how hot it stays, and the Rambam is brought in to test that. Recorded at the kollel, it checks each opinion against the case in front of it, with the questions left open for the room to argue.
