Fabric of Faith

A king has a magnificent garment made by a Jewish tailor, and the jealous people around him whisper that the tailor kept some of the cloth. To prove his honesty, the tailor does something that shocks the king. A Gemara in Menachos has the angels asking a very hard question when they see Rabbi Akiva's death: "This is Torah, and this is its reward?" Hashem's reply leaves them silent. The mashal is short, and it speaks to every time we cannot see how something could be for the best.
