Ep. 71 · Tazria · 12 min · 2019-04-03

How much of an 'אדם' are you

Right before Pesach, near Kiev, a Jew stands falsely accused in a courtroom. Days earlier the town's rav received a letter whose contents nobody knew, and now a hostile question about a Gemara is thrown at him, with every eye in the room on him. How does he answer? The story sits beside a question from the Alshich on Parshas Tazria. Why does the pasuk call someone with tzaraas "Adam," the highest name for a person, when his sin is lashon hara? Rav Shlomo Ganzfried, in his Apiryon, finds the key in what that one word says about us.
