Arguing the real way

Pirkei Avos calls the argument of Korach "Korach and his followers," yet the argument was with Moshe. Why name the wrong side? The Mishna also says an argument for the sake of heaven will "endure," and one that isn't will not. What does it mean for an argument to last, and what makes one argument for heaven at all?
