Educating our Kids
Most parents can get a child to daven or say Tehillim while they are standing right there. Is that what chinuch means? In Parshas Eikev the pasuk says to teach children to speak of Torah "when you sit, when you walk, when you lie down and when you rise." The Kesav Sofer asks why it spells all that out, and a distinction drawn by Rav Yaakov Kamenetsky fits his answer. A Rav and a Rebbetzin each ran a Tehillim group with the same prize, and the children's answers to one question were very different.
